This really pisses me off!!! There is NO FUCKING REASON why an Uncharted movie couldn’t be good. The story was right there it was so fucking easy to do and somehow they fucked it up!!! JFC!!! It’s not surprising when you look at the team they assembled. Clearly there wasn’t a single real fan of the games in charge of making this movie. Nothing is right - from the cast to the look to the origin story of the characters. Literally just stealing from the games would’ve yielded a familiar but (at the very least) very good movie. They couldn’t even get that right. That’s what happens when studio execs write a movie instead of actual writers. only ones this would draw are folks that played the video games. some are mad elena isnt in it but drake met chloe way before he met elena

If Holland were a fan he should have stepped down and let someone else play Drake. I’m also getting tired of Wahlberg being in video game movies. He never plays the games these movies are based on and admitted it with Max Payne cause he said “I don’t wanna become addicted to playing video games.” He was an awful choice for Sully. Years ago he might have actually made a decent Nathan Drake like he was originally supposed to play. There is NO FUCKING EXCUSE for us to still be getting shitty video game movies after the fact we just had 3 really good ones!!! I don’t blame Holland. He’s a popular and beloved actor at the moment, so being offered what could potentially be another iconic role is not something he should turn down. I blame studio executives trying to get the biggest name for younger audiences instead of the best actor to portray a character.

He’s gonna be seen as box office poison soon. This is NOT good for him!!

Cause apparently Holland suggested it to the studio and the studio liked the idea.

It’d be one thing if they actually adapted the story of young Nathan Drake from the 3rd and 4th games, but that doesn’t appear to be the case at all. It looks like he meets Sully in a bar as a bartender, which is obviously not the way the games explained their meeting. It’s also a much more boring explanation than the game version.

Politicidal, come on, you post movie franchise articles online like a career you should know how movie franchises work they picked a younger actor to make room for multiple sequels thus profit generating opportunities. This isn't difficult. Tom is young, funny, goodlooking, a proven box office draw with Marvel and can do his own stunts they may have been able to find better but they could have easily found worse too. Nathan Fillion who I'm sure is your preferred choice and the beloved Nathan Jesus to all gamers worldwide has never looked like Nathan in my opinion anyway.

He’s not the only one that could play Nathan Drake. List? Mark Wahlberg who else? Jack Reynor and Scott Eastwood would be my top picks. Then I’m sure there’s a plethora of unknowns you could go after. Guys like Jamie Dornan or Charlie Hunnam could be good too.

I mentioned this before, but Isaac looked nearly identical to Drake for one scene in the last Star Wars movie.

Not to mention he’s much smaller than the Nathan Drake in the games. All of those other guys are older and larger in stature. And as politicidal posted above, Isaac or (especially) Stan would be good picks too. Have you played the games? It seems the difference between Holland and any of those guys when discussing Nathan Drake in any scene other than the very limited flashbacks is very obvious.

Perhaps I’m just being too picky but I don’t see Holland as Nathan Drake one bit. From the voice to the build to the all-around look.

I admit Tom isn't rugged, identical to game Nathan or broody but that can all be changed by him not shaving for a few months basically. The error I guess that's been made by the production team is grooming routines and styling. Your problem with Tom is that he shaved too much in his prepping for the role that's basically what this boils down to.

A five-o’clock shadow isn’t going to change that.
