I’ll say this though, the one highlight from the Oscars that year was seeing Into the Spider-Verse win Best Animated Feature. I wasn't a great fan of it, 7 out of 10 for me but I must say that it was nice seeing somebody besides Pixar or Disney win the award for a change.

I enjoyed the artist though it was a bit of a novelty. Midnight in Paris was a very good movie and would have been my pick. Hugo wasn't that bad but it wasn't my cup of tea. Tree of Life I turned off shortly after I started watching it. I rarely say this considering I've enjoyed some very artistic films but it felt like a pretentious movie.

In terms of the 2010s it seems 2010, 2012, and 2019 are the years considered best
