I thought about watching it at the cinema, but i think i just wait for the DVD. its beautiful at the cinema. I saw all the other installments at home and today the new movie at the cinemas and I am glad I did. Its very pretty to look at. Not a “must” like Northman, but I would still suggest to see it on a big screen, the atmosphere of both Britain and France just transfers better from the silver screen I think

I may still watch it at the cinema.

enjoyed it a lot - as soothing as a mug of Ovaltine although Maggie fans will shed a tear I saw it on big screen - heritage porn and travelogue value very high

My general thoughts on DOWNTON ABBEY PART 2: A NEW ERA are pretty much the same as its predecessor: A movie that has some enjoyable moments and showcases a lot of the talent (on and off screen) that made the TV show successful, but also wanders aimlessly in search of a purpose. The series finale provided all the closure that was needed and none of the arcs that have been introduced since have justified the existence of any kind of follow-up. The reason why I'm giving this one a lower rating is that it has worse pacing and that it constantly rips SINGIN' IN THE RAIN off. People all over the world who want to learn another language watch period pieces. It makes sense, since the characters speak properly and without modern slang... so you can imagine the shock I felt during the scenes with French dialogue where the English subtitles had punctuation errors! I don't mean once in a while; it happens every single time!
5/10

Finally watched the movie.
I liked it well enough, it felt like a proper ending for Downton Abbey.
I will give it 7/10
