Of all the things there is a religious exemption for, vaccines should not be one of them. Possibly carrying and spreading a disease, for whatever the reason, could cause other people to suffer, even die. Religious freedom does not work when it can literally cause harm to others.
That’s why today (April 21, 2021), the Connecticut House has passed a bill that will eliminate religious exemptions to vaccines for students. It now goes to the Democratic controlled state Senate.
However, Republicans in the House managed to attach an amendment that will “grandfather” in those families who already have a religious exemption. It is estimated that about 8,000 students already have that exemption, creating a huge threat. The conservatives, of course, don’t care.

From what I recall, accommodating those few cases of religious exemptions was always doable because herd immunity prevented any problem.

Isn't that what homeschooling and private schools are for?

Well, that list sure is an eye-opener! Most every NSAID on the market, an anti-depressant, a statin drug and an antibiotic, and it is stated that this is not a complete list. This should be interesting!
