Yesterday I created the wonderful Sport of "Whacky Ball".
Whacky Ball involves setting up a net using a washing line strung between half way down a Swingball pole and a garden bin. You take a classic flyaway £1 plastic football (which may have been sitting unused in your garden for many years), and use hard plastic Swingball bats to thump the oversized ball back and forth.
I see this rivaling regulation tennis probably within a decade...
Anyone else created any quality variations of existing sports?

"Calvinball has no rules; the players make up their own rules as they go along..." Sounds a bit like my introduction of the two hits to get the ball across rule in Whacky Ball - sort of a variant on volleyball.

Football/Soccer Because all sports are made up, some sports where just made up a long time ago. Rugby's a good example of made up Sports spinning off - Union, League, American Football. Actually, it's a pity the Americans didn't go with League. Would be an interesting sport worldwide with a strong American league to rival the Aussies & Brits.

Wallet ball. One of the great games ever played in my parents' basement when I was in college. 3 players stand at a pool table and defend 2 pockets each while trying to knock the cue ball into the other players' pockets, using only their wallets. Broken fingers are simply part of the game.

Wallet ball's a good one!
Talking of days back with the parents it reminded me of another sport I used to play. I'll call it Sock Golf.
My room used to be in the attic conversion, so I had two flights of stairs to get down to the ground floor. Sock Golf involved seeing how few kicks it would take to get that morning's pair of socks down from the attic landing to through the doorway of the ground floor living room 😂.
The attic to first floor stairs switched back half way down but if you walloped the socks hard enough off the wall, got the angle just right and they were rolled up tightly enough, they could bounce onto the second part of the stairs and bounce down to the first floor landing. If you made it there an eagle three was theoretically possible!
Great days 🙄...

Ceiling ball. Toss a ball toward the ceiling and see who can come the closest without actually touching. As exciting as it sounds.

Crow scarer catch.
Crow scarers are like bangers, but much louder. They have like a 30 minute fuse.
1. Tear fuse off at a random short length.
2. Stand in a circle with yer pals.
3. Light fuse.
4. Play catch with the crow scarer.
5. Last one to bottle out wins. If it goes off when two players are still in, the player who doesn't get the horrible burns wins.

This is a crow scarer set off in a bin.

4th and Goal. The ultimate game of drunken skill where you place a couch on the inside of a doorway, two people stand on top of said couch, while a third person charges across the room and tries to break the plane of the doorway. Oh yeah, definitely no injuries happened while playing this awesome, very intelligently conceived, contest.
