Is it a horror (scary) show? I kept trying to read the reviews and all people kept commenting on was regarding racism.

It is horror, it's about racism; but it's dealing with horror and racism, and it's so damned intense!!! I'm not usually worked up about movies/series - but this one had my BP up! WOW! It takes place during the Jim Crow era - early 50's in particular - and the leads are so good!! I had to read for an hour to calm down before going to sleep last night.

The little girl is so damned cute!! But it is VERY difficult to watch and not be affected by the horror, both racial AND supernatural.
