The now defunct Harvey Comics had its own megaverse with characters like Little Lotta, Little Audrey, Wendy the Good Little Witch, Casper the Friendly Ghost and many others. Then there was Little Dot whose wikipedia entry tells us this: Little Dot (real name Dorothy Polka) was a "one-note character" with a reliance on formulaic gags and repetitious images (i.e. Dot's dots). Her stories also involved a considerable amount of slapstick humor and domestic comedy. The character's signature theme only became apparent in 1953, after she was redesigned to conform to the company's emerging house style. Consequently, as Dot became a virtual clone of Famous Studios' Little Audrey (which Harvey was licensing at the time), the 'Dotty' aspect was emphasized so that the two characters wouldn't appear too similar. From Googling, I learned that polka dots were considered fearful until the mid-19th century because of their visual connection to various spooted diseases and their resemblance to mold and fungal infections. Things were taking root in places where they didn't belong. In more recent times some science fiction productions (Outer Limits, Stephen King adaptation) had various plants taking root on steel beams. Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is a real life Little Dot and her works infest and consume the places where they are stored. They can't be hung on a wall. Instead they consume the wall, the floor, the ceiling, the tables, sofas and everything else. Perhaps some of you are wondering if Yayoi Kusama's artwork would completely consume and digest actor George Clooney if given the chance. The answer is yes it would. Last one for now
