I have been for awhile, from Amazon, and loved it. But they are no longer reliable so I'm wondering about other services.

I did Amazon Prime and got my groceries delivered within 2 hours and it was fantastic. Even hot meals. I loved it! Great food, healthy food, terrific food. I may actually do it again.
I wonder how often they'll let me do Amazon Prime trials before they pick up on me not purchasing the whole yearly package.

Interesting you brought this up because I normally do curbside pickup from my regular supermarket. I shop online, place my order and select a time that I will be there to pick up, no-contact, and they load my groceries into my car.
Today, I logged into my account to start selecting my groceries and for the first time ever, I noticed they're offering a delivery option! Huh, imagine that. Totally awesome.

Catman has had groceries delivery both from a local grocery chain and Walmart. Good results both times, but the delivery charge and mandatory tip are quite off putting.

I did, for about 3 months, after we first went into lock-down in March of 2020. One of my favorite markets used the "Instacart," delivery service, and another used its own employees to make the runs. They were fine, under the circumstances. But, occasionally, they had to make substitutions when an item was out of stock, so I was glad to get back to the stores and make my own selections.

I'm way too picky. And like you said, they're not so reliable. I've had stuff delivered on time. I've had stuff delivered a day early & they put it outside by the back/side door(didn't know until the next day because we were gone). Then had stuff delivered way late. I'm too OCD about what I get, and they don't pay attention to the deliver instructions all the time. Obviously it depends on the driver.

I was told by a former mgr of Food Lion that the profit margin on groceries is pretty slim so I'm not surprised about delivery fees and tips. I compared Amazon Fresh to a receipt from Food Lion and the prices were similar, Fresh was actually a couple dollars cheaper. But lately they have been hours late or don't show up at all so you can't trust them with frozen foods, fresh fish or chicken.

Yes, via Instacart for the past year.
Very good experiences with the shoppers assigned to my orders. They've started on time, work very quickly, suggest substitutions (often with photos) as necessary. No issues at all, except for the rare instances of bagging hot and cold items together.

I getting a delivery from Whole Foods today, still Amazon ugh. I'm going to check out Walmart's delivery service. I'm on the phone with customer service now. I placed my order for a delivery tomorrow and happened to notice they have the wrong address. They told me, (get this), well there's nothing they can do about that. WHAT? Excuse me, but WHAT!? You're telling me I just ordered $200 worth of groceries to be delivered to the people two doors down the street tomorrow and you can't change the address on that? I tried to change the address on MY end, but it will only let me change the billing street address, but not the shipping street address. WTF? Soooo this is my foray into their first time doing deliveries for their customers. Needless to say if this is the way they resolve customers' complaints, and can't or unwilling to correct the address, then I guess I'm back to my regular way of getting groceries. I was floored when she calmly told me, "there's nothing we can do on our end" about correcting the shipping address. Unbelievable....

I don't have a problem with the mandatory tip that my market is charging me since it's $5.00. You also have the option to tip more. I'm a heavy tipper to begin with, whether it's take out or delivery. Most of these workers are paid diddly-squat and rely on tips, often doing back-breaking work and are dealing with pissed off customers while lugging groceries around or stacking shelves. If the mandatory tip was excessive, I'd probably have a problem, but it's not that much, and I tip beyond that. I don't like being told what to do or told that how much I must pay. But anyone who's ordered delivery knows there's an automatic delivery service and none of that is considered a tip to the driver. This is a courtesy.

I had an Amazon Fresh order that wasn't picked up by the driver and they told me my only option was cancel and get a refund or reschedule delivery 2 days later. On the refund they put that I refused delivery, so I'm going to write and complain, won't do any good but I'll feel better.

I've been doing it for about 4 years off and on. I've only had 2 issues and both were resolved right away.
My favorite one was when I ordered a bunch of food and it was delivered to my door in 20 minutes.
