HBO had an amazing documentary on Andre the Giant. It’s one of the best sports documentaries I’ve seen. Even Ric Flair got an ESPN 30 for 30.
Stone Cold deserved better than to be a part of an 8 night event with other wrestlers.
I’ve heard so many stories from so many people in the business, on his podcast tell some amazing stories.
It was okay, but it felt cheap. You had like 3 people (Mick Foley, Vince and Austin) for 99% of the documentary talking about him. Very quick from point a to b to c .... then it would spend too much time on some things, and not enough on others.
I can see Shawn Michaels, Rowdy Piper and so on getting an A&E documentary. But Stone Cold, the man who saved the WWF from going under... creating the Attitude Era, and launching the Rocks career... Austin 3:16 deserved better...

What?
I'm super into this A&E series. However I think you maybe over rating it.
Did Austin deserve a 30 for 30? Imo, no. He was awesome but his story wasn't good enough imo.
The next few series im much more interested in.
Also, Austin didn't launch The Rocks career. He was destined for it.
I think you may be putting a bit too much credit to a single person in terms of eras.

Also, Austin gets too much credit for the "Attitude Era". It was a perfect storm with Austin 316 and DX. They built it up perfectly to WM14.

I thought it was done well enough, but there was definitely nothing new for those who already know Austin’s story. I’m looking forward to the Roddy Piper episode more.

It was Austin/McMahon that brought WWF to a huge boil in the late 90s. I'm just saying Austin gets too much credit as if he was the only guy. Was he the most important? Yes. But don't act like there weren't multiple people responsible for the success of that era. DX Rock Foley McMahon Sable Chris Jericho Mike Tyson briefly Even though I hate his guts Vince Russo etc. Austin was the main guy at the time but it was also just a perfect timing to match with the talent they all had. It all worked together. It wasn't strictly Austin and Austin alone which is why I say he gets too much credit. You could be the top guy but you aren't going anywhere unless you've got good/great people to work with. They had a lot of stars then. Not just one.

Have to disagree with this. Yes, there was a great pool of talent in the WWF at the time. Austin was certainly not the only guy there making the Attitude Era as big as it was.
However, he absolutely deserves all the credit he's given. Even Cornette, who was there for his rise, has stated that Austin really had the entire company on his back for quite a while. He's the reason WWF was ever even able to go public.
Austin, much like Hogan in the 80s, and Cena in the 2000's, was the guy.

Agreed to disagree.
I'm not saying Austin wasn't THE guy. I just do not believe that he is the loan person responsible for the Attitude Era like people seem to believe. The attitude era didn't start at WrestleMania 14 either. They had been going with attitude level tv before then.
To me its like using the term over rated. When I say somebody is over rated it doesn't mean I think they suck. They may just be over valued in the main stream audience/media. Not saying Austin wasn't important. Far from it. Its just I dont believe he was the only person responsible for that era.
