A quirky anime with interesting characters and wacky story lines. A few suggestions for watching: 1. You can watch the episodes in chronological order or by original air date which was intentionally out of sequence. Chronological order is less confusing. 2. Turn on close captioning if you watch the dub. You can easily understand most of the characters, but Stephanie Sheh's voicing of Mikuru Asahina borders on unintelligible. Granted, much of what Miss Asahina says is just a bunch of whining about what Haruhi is doing, but there are times when understanding what she's saying is helpful to understanding the plot. 3. If you've seen Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, but prepared for thinking you're watching Togusa when he was in high school. 4. When you reach the 'Endless Eight' episodes, watch only the first and last plus one random episode from the six in between. It's an interesting concept which the writers beat to death, and the minor changes in dialogue, costume, and character positions isn't enough to make it worth watching all eight episodes. 5. When you reach the 'Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya' episodes, watch only the first, fourth and last. Again, the writers drag out the action of making the film beyond the breaking point. 6. The final two episodes ('The Day of Sagittarius' and 'Someday in the Rain') are not particularly interesting and can be skipped. And while the cat appears in the credits throughout the series, he actually appears in only two episodes. Overall, Catman gives this 6/10, watchable but ultimately unrealized potential.

It felt a bit too mundane to watch the whole show but I watched The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya and while I didn't understand it all it was pretty interesting.
