My dad was a WW2 vet. He disliked eggs because he had to eat powdered eggs in the army. My mom thinks I got my dislike of eggs from him, but I wasn't even aware of it.
I think he found chipped beef on toast palatable (a.k.a. shit on a shingle).

I can eat some things that have an egg baked into it, though, like cake or certain pies.
"shit on a shingle" - - LOL. When I was a kid my dad used to talk about that from his Korean War days. They called it S.O.S. for short, lol.

they are just too picky, ZolotoyRetrieverjk My dad developed a pineapple allergy because they served it so much during his Army service. My husband hated spaghetti because they served it nearly every day in the mess. I can make spaghetti now, but for twenty years he would not eat it. guess it is in the context of the situation. Did you get tired of anything during your service career?

Prune juice was not popular? But that is a warrior's drink!

I don't think I did, e. I wasn't much of a foodie. TBH I barely even remember much about the food. I just ate what they served us. But I will say it was good food, with a fair amount of variety, and certainly none of the stuff on that list above. I mean, I'm sure I'd remember it if they served us chitterlings or raisin pie, lol.
