I watched BTTF for the umpeenth time earlier this week. I was skimming thru the IMDB database and notice that John McCook had an uncredited roll as "Surgeon". I don't remember any one with medical training in the film. Anyone? Anyone?

Possibly in the school dance when Marvin Berry gets his hand cut and he calls his cousin? Who bandaged his hand?

Maybe from the deleted scene in which a surgeon endorses cigarettes including the line "After facing the tension of doing three lung operations in a row..."

What's the point of having an actor playing a particular role and not show the guy on screen. We don't see his hand being tended to.

We don't see his hand being tended to. Maybe he was at the dance already--like there for the school in case of emergency. Unless this actor is well-known, I assume he or someone he knows added his identity in there--he could have been someone appearing on the street in doctor clothes for a split second in the scene where Marty hitches a ride through town.
