I lost interest some time ago when all the record/CD shops disappeared.

They are going to be opening a Dave & Busters in my mall, so I can play arcade games again.

Every 4 or 5 months I go to look around Suncoast/FYE. And I'll look around in Sears too, but haven't bought anything in Sears for years.

Isn't it ironic that amazon uber lord jeff bezos is a rabid left wing gooses stepping liberal, yet he has no qualms with destroying countless numbers of mom and pop brick and mortar businesses while making himself insanely wealthy?
Did I say ironic? I meant typical. That lousy piece of shit.

It's been ages since I went to one, but next weekend I hope to go to one again. The local one still has a shop (JB-Hi-Fi) which sells CDs/DVDs/Blu-rays/Games (and maybe vinyl?), which is cool. I love randomly looking through the selection and finding a show or film I completely forgot about.

The mall in my down is now considered a dead mall. Its been at least a year since I've been there. The last time I did go there were only a few stores left. I remember going as a kid and it was full of stores, had an arcade and lots of good places to eat. It's kinda sad that its in the state its in now.

The local mall near me has just one anchor store left: Carson's. Which means I may shop there once, maybe twice a year... at most.

I had to go to the mall yesterday, and while I was strolling through, I got to wondering why malls are becoming less used. As I see it, they offer a number of benefits:
1. A central location of stores 2. Quick, time-saving access to stores 3. Climate-controlled corridors that provides a comfortable shopping experience 4. The ability to see, touch, and try on products 5. A place for Santa Clause to hang out
Why would anyone want to buy clothing online when a local store allows you to find the right size with much less effort? And many stores will special order a size for you for free.
I think a problem with malls is that they got too big. Bigger malls means more walking from end to end. And that starts to make you feel like it's a bigger hassle than it is. Smaller malls would require smaller parking lots and less walking, and I think that's a better formula for success.
