"The hairy child H"? And who's Halle? Halle Berry? Does he think Meghan is Halle Berry?
Two questions:
First, is that a legit regional English accent? Or does he just have bad diction?
Second, WTF is he saying?
It’s the London accent combined with bad diction. Believe it or not but we’re as sloppy as most Americans when it comes to the English language but we get to hear how ordinary Americans talk due to films and TV but I’m not sure if that goes the other way. He’s angry that they didn’t inform the Queen to see if she approved it or not and it’s damaging to the royal family. They could lose their HRH and they could lose their Sussex and they could get divorced in the future and Harry’s not used to an ordinary life whereas Meghan has lived an ordinary life and can go back to being an actress whenever she wants. I could go on… He was easy to understand. But at first, I didn't know if that was a man or a woman.

Remember what happened to the Czar and his family. And you know my usual reply to that fantasy. There are not enough communists in the UK to organise such a thing and I’d rather not have the resulting shit storm taking place in my country or my country to get to the state that leads to a revolution, thank you very much.

Dude, I'm very bourgeois and I love my material pleasures. I would not like to live under communism either.
However, I do believe Karl Marx was a genius. And he did an accurate and compelling outline of history and society.
The only practical way to manage this world so resources are used efficiently, and are not horded by a greedy 1%, is through a communist reform of the economic system.
Simply because you and I are bourgeois and love the good life, it does not mean we can't think of ways where everybody can share in this world's bounty, without billionaires, monarchs, despots and elitists.
*Just a note. Weren't many of the founders of the Labour Party Marxists?

I just hope the outcome of the Russian Revolution wasn’t part of Marx’s genius plan. Just let the royals fade into the correct level of unimportance and perhaps the world might be a slightly better place. I know that’s not something that would give people a raging political hard-on but as far as I can tell Communist revolutions usually end up creating shit. I also think the term “bourgeois” is pretentious as fuck.

Mass starvation, landlords and peasants, oppression of women, drowning of female infants, footbinding ... I'm really not in the mood to make a list.
You think the Russians were better off under the Czar?
"Bourgeois" is just the term used in political science to describe the class who own capital. There's nothing pretentious about it. The term "middle class" roughly means the same thing, yet it's an inaccurate catch all.
What I find pretentious is fools who say the term "bourgeois" is pretentious. It's a legitimate term used in economics.

It’s a word used by those who “know better”. This is an English based website and “middle class” fits perfectly. There’s no need to show the folks that you went to college and read books, just try talking to people who never went to university in their own language. If that’s pretentious to you then I give up. *gets ready for GameBoy to strike his “I won the argument” pose. The argument that people are better off under one oppressive system than they were under another oppressive system is like asking me if I’d rather have my jaw broken or be stabbed in the eye. Would you rather live in America or either of those two countries?

No, I have real problems with the term "middle class" because it describes nothing politically or historically. I just know Americans use it to pretend there is no working class, or if I may be so bold since you think accuracy is pretension, the proletariat.
A guy may make 60 bucks an hour and have a great union job. So Americans call him "middle class. Another guy might be a manager and make 20 bucks an hour. They still call him "middle class". It's attempt by those with an agenda to ignore the reality of our economic system
I already said I'm fine how I am in the bourgeoisie. That doesn't mean I hide my head in the sand as you do.

Oh please, you accuse me yet you're the one getting pissy. Oh dear, you mean to say you do that sort of thing without realising it? Dude, you really have become one of those people who just loses your temper and throws out baseless allegations.
I was trying to have a conversation with you about Marxism and class. Not a deep one, but I didn't come at you with any hostility.
And all a sudden I'm saying I won some argument? Really?
Can you be honest with yourself? You shut down my attempt at an exchange of ideas with some blather about me claiming I won something.

It was a lighthearted comment related to your occasional claim of winning an argument when someone gives up on arguing with you. If that strikes you as a tantrum then I give up. * See what I did there? BTW: just because you don’t accept something doesn’t mean it’s baseless.

The conversation was about the term middle class v bourgeois. I'm not quite sure what you think I was claiming I won.

The conversation was about the term middle class v bourgeois. I'm not quite sure what you think I was claiming I won. I wrote “I give up!” and remembered you declaring that you had won the argument a few times before and joked about it. Is that really so hard for you to understand? Perhaps I’m just shit at explaining things. By the way, in case you were not following what happened I “gave up” after you claimed that saying something is pretentious is pretentious. It may be ignorant or dumb but pretentious? It’s the debating equivalent of “I know you are but what am I?
