What I saw strikes me as being a sort of Al Capone's Vault, where this documentary is concerned. A whole lot of 'nothing to see here', with the known facts about her demise being tarted up, re-arranged and regurgitated to make it appear that Something Sinister Really Happened. In actuality, just another upchucking of the same old same old, but in Diana's case a lot of people never tire of the same old same old, and so will attach a lot more importance to this waste of celluloid (or pixels, or whatever) than it deserves. Maybe Charles included.
What happened to the woman was sad, but she willingly, even eagerly, stuck her head into the royal noose. And where clan Windsor is concerned, outsiders who do that seem seldom to be pleased with what they get. Diana's case was more extreme than most others, but how many who graft themselves onto that lot ever seem to live happily ever after?
