I'm getting ready to watch "Girls Girls Girls". I know the movies are silly fluff, but they provide a nice antidote to too much reality. All the films are pretty to look at and I think Elvis has an appealing screen presence and his voice is nice to listen to. They're not great movies, but they are pleasant and mild. And sometimes pleasant and mild are exactly what I need!

As often as I listen to his music, his movies hold no interest for me.

I mean, if you give me a pick of a cyanide capsule and an Elvis movie, I'd go with the movie.

Some of them are okay, certainly no worse than most of the comedy movies from the 1960s.

They are fun.
Kind of like MCU films. Just an entertaining film with lots of style, little substance... and you forget about them a few hours later.

cool. Do you have any favorites? GGG has Elvis singing "Return to Sender", which is a good song. I know that most Elvis movies are interchangeable, but in that is part of the appeal. If I'm feeling stressed out or whatever, the mildness of an Elvis Presley movie can be a balm. Kind of like a 1960s Doris Day comedy. I also like "Fun in Acapulco" and "It Happened at the World's Fair".

Gorgeous to look at and has a soothing quality. Angela Lansbury playing the mom is just a bonus. The next year she was a much more intimidating mother in "The Manchirian Candidate".

"Viva Las Vegas". Yes. Elvis and Ann had really good chemistry. AM would have matched Elvis' sexual intensity. She never backed down. I've always liked her. Good title song also and the song you posted is, once again, mild, yet appealing. Thank you for providing another example of what I am trying to get at here.

Lighting, color, camera work, choreography - and Elvis with Ann-Margret. Terri Garr is in there with Ann-Margert.

I like all the films I have seen of his. They use don't make such charming lighthearted musicals anymore. I can watch any Presley movie and never get bored.

As a youngster, I used to detest them because they were Formulaic fluff-balls padded with glitz and lights. Nowadays i adore them because they are formulaic fluff-balls padded with glitz and lights. Bubba-ho Tep is my fave.
