...how many times have they been successful and for which shows? I thought producers don't care, but my friend said, no, sometimes they've made new seasons happen. and which kept going down the tube? Did some flop after and it wasn't worth it?

Tim Allen's Last Man Standing was given three more seasons when it was cancelled after six seasons had been completed.
God bless you and him always!!!

Thanks alpha, I didn't know that about the original series. I always thought there wasn't much rallying until it was too late. I wish it had more seasons, but glad it got to 3!

Chuck, IZombie, and Wynonna Earp all earned additional seasons from fans writing in.

Thanks alpha, I didn't know that about the original series. I always thought there wasn't much rallying until it was too late. I wish it had more seasons, but glad it got to 3! I am likewise glad it got to three seasons, and own all three seasons of TOS on DVD. I also fairly recently got the DVDs for Star Trek: The Animated Series (TAS). I essentially consider TAS to be Season 4 of TOS. In fact, I'd say the overall quality of the scripts in TAS exceeded that in Season 3 of TOS. Finally, if you like Star Trek and movies in general, I encourage you to check out the IMDB v2.1 Movie Quotes board, where we have "trekked" nearly 400 movies to date.

The Killing kept going because of fan vocal support. AMC eventually cancelled it but it had a bonus season on Netflix.

Lucifer and The Expanse. Chuck was already mentioned. I thought "The Expanse" was saved because Jeff Bezos was a fan and ordered Amazon Prime to buy the rights and continue production?

Jericho only ran for one more season though and it was rushed and wasn't nearly as good as the first. There were actors that didn't come back and those that did weren't on the show very much.

At least we got a bit of closure though... I hate it when shows are cancelled at the end of the first season or so, just when it is getting going, and there is no final episode, and it leaves you with so many questions that will never get answered.
