What I liked about the original is that up until a point, you’re not sure if the boy is doing it and blaming it on the doll, or the doll is doing it and framing the boy.
I think a clever remake would to take what people know about Chucky and dump it on the viewer’s head.
Have a similar plot to the original. Then the twist is, Chucky is just a doll. He isn’t possessed, the boy is killing people and blaming it on the doll.
He has “Dissociative Identity Disorder” or formally Split Personality Disorder.
So the boy’s normal personality doesn’t remember doing it. His alter ego personality is Chucky and he believes the doll is doing it. But he is doing it.

I never liked any of the Child’s Play movies. They’re more annoying and frustrating than anything resembling scary or entertaining.

Honestly I didn’t mind it. I saw it with my fiancée who is a big Chucky fan. She enjoyed it as well and didn’t mind the change, but she said she wouldn’t add it to her Chucky collection.

It was OK...
It was interesting to see the new take on the story, but I still prefer the possession concept over a killer robot.
6/10

I never liked any of the Child’s Play movies. They’re more annoying and frustrating than anything resembling scary or entertaining. The only mildly entertaining one is Seed of Chucky because of Meg Tilly and John Waters, and the plot is hilarious!! Otherwise, the rest suck.

I liked it. I prefer the original timeline tho. The Child’s Play series muddled through so many phases and still kept it all canon. The remake was good tho. Hamill was solid.

The original plot of Chucky was pretty much the same as every killer doll story before it, oh how interesting would it have been if a film actually had the balls to flip it on it's head!

Better than I expected, but still mediocre and completely unnecessary.
Mark Hamill is good and the Tupac joke is hilarious. Other than that it is forgettable.
As far as horror remakes go, it is still one of the better ones. Meaning that it isn't terrible.
5.5/10

I think there's going to be a Child's Play/Chucky TV show.

I think there's going to be a Child's Play/Chucky TV show. There is. It sounds pretty interesting actually from what they've said about it.
