I think the like button serves a purpose as it gives you the opportunity to acknowledge that you read the person’s post but don’t want to keep talking about it. I think most people accept that but would probably react to a dislike button.
Don't be intellectually lazy. If you dislike a post sufficiently to downvote it, be arsed enough to write a post explaining your reasons for the dislike.
I don't have to give reasons for liking a post, so why should I give reasons for disliking a post.
The like button is too one-sided. Have both like and dislike options or none at all.
Or you could simply exercise your own free will and not use the Like option. Frankly, I see no point to having either, but I also see no reason to complain about one, both, or neither being offered. Life's too short.
I also agree with a couple of the above posters that it was precisely this type of shite that helped open the door to so much havoc/trolling on the old IMDb boards. Why export it to here, when there's no particular need for it?
