"The Process was about a group of stars growing together and competing for championships. The Sixers were the #1 seed. The Process was a success." It was a plan and a legitimate one. We all know team that have tanked, at least the Sixers did it in the open. But, for the "Process" to work, they had to hit on every high draft pick. No Markelle Fultz, no Jahlil Okafor. To depend on draft picks alone is a flawed method, especially in the NBA with a lottery.

Hang in there, frogs. Piling on and kicking someone when they are down is what the spineless do when they have the opportunity. Don't let the bastards get to you, and don't leave this site. You make it much more interesting. You're a good and loyal fan, though you do have a tendency to "get ahead of yourself" with the predictions and the wrestling and the whatnots. Tweak that a bit, learn a little humility, and keep moving forward. There is nothing wrong with blind loyalty to your cities teams. It's unfortunate for you that your city is Philadelphia, but those are the cards you were dealt. Doesn't mean you need to leave the table, though. Stay here where you're needed. Like I said, we all have to take our lumps. Not sure if anyone still here was on the old board in 2003. Strelnikov. real marco and the other Yankee fans heaped shit on me, Pops, BoSoxRule all winter, spring and summer. The Yankee fans seemed to shut up in October of '04, can't remember why. It was mostly good natured and what if it wasn't. I didn't cause the Sox to lose the 2003 ALCS, just like Froggy didn't help the Sixers to choke.
But, the more shit you spew, the more it will come back on you. And he was spewing...
Was anyone here that was there in 2003, 2004? Carl was, NJ was I think. Klaw showed right around them.

Damm, nice memory. Yup, I started posting around '04 and I do recall those halcyon days of the Sox Yanks. Of course, nothing beats the fabled "The Red Sox just moved into their season-long home" thread that lasted for years. And yes, there is a pretty wide gulf between supporting your team and even stubbornly standing tall in the face of adversity, and being a rambling, shit-talking buffoon who jumps ship simply to avoid those tides turning against you. Talk about spineless...

2004 was really hurt no matter how many times the team had already won. After game 3 blow out win, all of us Yankees fans gotten very giddy. That was one of the times I already look ahead to the championship and had forgotten about the botched job in the WS the year before.

You’re gonna act the way he does, stick around and take your medicine and quit acting like a 12 year old girl who’s gotten her first period.

If I acted like Frogs all season, I'd expect and take any ribbing that came my way. More importantly, this is all in good fun. It's sports, not politics or religion. We can make fun of each other's sports failures without hostility - unless of course, the victim takes it too seriously. I spent years ragging on Wentzy; now I have the honor of rooting for ol "Carson." Frogs will be back declaring the Eagles champions as soon as Hurtsy completes a pass to Devonta Smith. And we'll be there to chirp right back at him. It's what makes sports fandom fun.

There was something enjoyable about DeNiro. Every now and then, he would bust out a very witty, self-deprecating post about his Redskin and National fandom and it was quite charming.

Yeah, you talk about Frogs line he’s Che Fuckin Guevara or something. He’s not a rebel who laughs in the face of adversity. He’s got a big mouth that he only closes when his bold predictions don’t come true. The year the Eagles won the Super Bowl, I knew they were going to win. It wasn’t a prediction, I felt like I was stating fact. But if the Patriots had ended up winning, I wouldn’t have quit the board. Everyone here would have been well within their rights to call me out on it. As it is that the only real success any Philly team has had since the creation of IMDB 2, yet here I am.

Then he's go back to his "imma gunna kick yer azzez and whup Rex Grozzmanz azz if I ever see him in da club after I getz my bitchez in line". He had a bigger man crucsh on Bryce harper than Froggy.
Who was the Tampa Bay Rays fan? Not Vincentlecaviellerswife

Hmmm, I vaguely remember another Tampa fan, but she takes the cake. I remember enjoying her posting, but then it made this u-turn one day where she openly talked about sleeping with a married dude, and she made all these weird, self-involved posts at the expense of all else. I know it comes up every time we go down memory lane, but triple_double is the guy who should come back. That dude was the best.

I kind of liked her but not after she had to regale us with a story about dramatically yanking her plug out the the paragon on Christian virtue could screw a married man.
I had triple_doubles email. i asked him a couple times he he was coming back, no reply. He invited me and my family to Rochester to see Bills training camp. Wish I had taken him up on it but I had a family wedding to go to

I feel for treefrog here. I used to take sports very very seriously. Back in the 90s with all the Knicks brutal exits with high expectation, I can go for a week in depression. Now, most of time, overnight, I movie on. I guess it does help being a Yankees fan when I have a lifetime of championship in a 5 years period and getting a bunch satisfaction of winning in one of my teams. It did hurt when the Yankees got eliminated in game 5 ALDS last year. It didn't hurt that much with Knicks eliminated since I have not follow NBA much in the regular season. Nets I just feel disappointed, but not really hurt. When you start the season expecting the Sixers to be at least in the final, it got to hurt a lot. Frogs knows I enjoy his antics and I think he's important to the vitality of this board. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of him. Anyway there's a difference between rooting for a losing team and insisting they're going to win to the point of being smug about it. Again, we all know this is just an act on his part, but that only adds to the fun when we're throwing it back at him.
