£158 for a car battery!
That's what I had to pay today when my old one gave up the ghost!
Add £97 for someone to come and give my old one a jump start.
And while I was waiting for him to arrive some kahnt reversed into me and caused £442 worth of damage.
Heute ist nicht mein tag!

If it is a stop start battery, that's about the going rate.
If it's an old school type, you was robbed mate.
Why didn't you ask a neighbour or passing motorist for a free jump start?

If you aren't using your car very often, invest in a solar trickle battery charger. Might just prevent your battery going completely flat in future... Solar car battery chargers

It is a stop start one. I hate the stop start feature! It hadn't been working but started up again after the new battery was put in. I was looking up the manual there to find out how to disengage it .. quite easy by the looks of things.

I didn't have any jump leads with me.
Anyway I didn't want to impose.

It drains the battery much quicker.

Heute ist nicht mein tag! £158 for a new car battery doesn’t seem like TOO much. £97 for a jump start is outrageous. Over here I think many taxi drivers will do it for you for $20 or so. Sorry to hear about the £442 damage. Reminds me of this one time someone hit me while I was waiting in line at a gas station. It was winter and very cold, so we went inside to fill out the paperwork. While we are doing that, someone else comes in and asks “whose car is that out there?”. She had hit my car! While it was just standing there! Two hits within five minutes!

This was a vehicle recovery service I phoned. The closest I could get was 8 miles away. He was at my car for two minutes tops! Re. the bump, that was the cost quoted by a local garage. The guy who reversed into me was one of those Just Eat delivery drivers using his own car. I let the twat persuade me he could just polish it out. I reckon the fanny didn’t have any insurance. I’m a facking mug.

Can't believe you left that Just Eat guy get away with that.(he should've been hung) Chancer saying he'd polish it for you but the garage are chancers too charging that money, everybody wants to make a quick buck. I quit being nice years ago, unless you genuinely know the person and know theyre a good person, you let em polish your car but otherwise fuck em. What if it was the other way round?

The garage said the rear wing was dented but I wasn’t so sure. Anyway you can definitely see the bit he polished isn’t the same shade of black as the rest of the car. Ah, fuck it!

If you don't get AA cover, don't come crying on here after you've broken down on the M8, and its cost you £500 to get towed.
