I thought this movie was well made and entertaining. Milla Jovovich is beautiful. But . . . - The doctor is portrayed as not smart, educated or professional. And she's too emotional to be objective and analytical.
- The sheriff is a joke. Screaming and yelling, accusing and arresting people without evidence, smashing chairs into mirrors at suspects' and victims' houses.
- It's so "convenient" the videos cut out everytime the paranormal activity occurs.
And then I did a little research and found out it was all fake. No surprise.
This movie is entertaining. But if you can't see through the gaping holes in logic --- a little research will set you straight.
One clue is the so called "real footage" of the Dr. Abigail Tyler is actually played by the actress Charlotte Milchard.
Another is all the characters that are supposed to be based on real people have aliases, and refused to participate in the making of the film.
Another one is Google "Dr. Abigail Tyler". There is no such person.
Did you see it? What did you think?

The best I can say is that it is better than I expected. While I wasn't bored while watching it, it is too silly and unfocused to be anything more than completely average. The gimmick isn't effective in the case of this movie.
Anyone who watches it as if it is based on anything real doesn't understand the horror genre. I didn't even need to check to make sure. It is obvious.
There are many smart people who let emotion get in the way of objectivity and rationality btw, so I don't necessarily see that as a fault of the movie.
5.5/10
