I got the game delivered to me last night and finished it 10 minutes ago. I liked it, but I won’t lie and say that I didn’t think the story was anything too special. I also didn’t really like the Village location. I don’t think the Village was that scary. Reminded me of RE4 a little bit.
The werewolves were not as huge of a deal as the previews we’re making them out to be. They were really pushing them, but they weren’t even in the game much. I also did not think the game itself was very scary. RE7 definitely had way more tense moments and definitely had me more on edge. The bosses did not really feel like bosses either. When some of them came up I had no idea they were even bosses. I was like “oh that was it?”
The ending also was kind of bittersweet. I was hoping for a better ending after everything I went through, but I was ok with it I guess. I probably should have been expecting that kind of ending though.
All in all I still thought it was good, not great, but good. I’m still excited to see what the next one brings to the table. Would give it an 8/10.

I cleared the Castle yesterday evening, so I'm not that far into the game. Yet two things annoy me so far : 1st: I get that making this decision allowed Capcom to make RE8 this way but why have they done it like we didn't clearly have the option to go with Zoe, even if it meant everybody is gone except Ethan in the end. 2nd: They picked or created names yet they can't pronounce them properly. I mean, Dimitrescu sounds Romanian as hell ( especially if you consider the vampires, castle, blood and similar stuff) but somehow, at least in english, they forget to pronounce the "U" at the end. With the subtitles on, they spell it right but when you hear it it's always like "Dimitresk" while it should be "Dimitres-coo". I know it's nothing major but it just sounds wrong everything single time it is said.
