For me it's Spider-Man 2 and Brothers. Especially that scene where he flips out, and points the gun to his head. Just wow. I think he should have won an Oscar for that performance.

The Ice Storm or Wonder Boys.
He was a terrific Spider-Man but I thought he was rather flat in Brothers.

I pretty much despise him in everything lol. Just something so smug & unlikeable about the dbag . If I had to choose though , I'd go with Wonder Boys (he was decent enough in that film) .
Sidenote, he was waaay too old to be Spiderman . God I hated him as Spiderman so much. And wasn't he like 26 when they filmed the 1st Spiderman (and he was supposed to be in high school?!) Haha imo they should have cast Jake Gyllenhaal at the time. Much more age appropriate and more a likable actor.

My choice would have been Topher Grace, who basically WAS Peter Parker on That 70s Show. Though I like Maguire enough in the role. More so than Garfield, who looked even older. As for the question, I'd say Brothers.

I think Ditko's vision of Peter Parker is someone closer to Robert Walker Jr. or James MacArthur. He should have an edge. A streak of independence and not the Woody Allen wimpiness that Stan Lee emphasized (especially after Ditko left).
Maguire is too muted as Peter Parker.
And the new one, Christ, put a diaper on him.
The whole idea is that villains think he is an adult-Spider-MAN--having him sound like a kid is moronic.
