Any fans of this popular modern comedy? How has it held up after 10 years? I haven't seen all of director Paul Feig's work, but from the ones most people know of that I've seen (The Heat, Ghostbusters (2016), Spy), this is one that I haven't really sat down and fully watched yet. But apparently it has become a popular modern comedy (especially since it has a largely female cast). The movie was a big launching pad for Melissa McCarthy (who got an Oscar nomination for this film) as well as for director Paul Feig. I think the movie also got a nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Bridesmaids (2011) - 2 out of 4 stars"Wiig has made a wreck of her love life and career, so when lifelong friend Rudolph asks her to be maid of honor at her upcoming nuptials, she wants to do a great job. Then she becomes insanely jealous of Rudolph's new gal-pal Byrne, a "Little Miss Perfect" who's used to getting her way. Raunchy, female-centric comedy (written by Wiig and Annie Mumolo, who plays one of the airplane passengers) is alternately funny, serious, heartfelt, dull, plodding, and out of control. Its best moments were apparently improvised, but that must also account for its slow stretches and detours. Jon Hamm appears unbilled. Produced by Judd Apatow. Clayburgh's final film. Unrated version runs 131m. Super 35."

I did like this movie when I saw it, but I don’t know why so many people fell in love with it and called it the next Hangover. It’s anything, BUT the Hangover. Hangover got actual laughs out of me. Bridesmaids got chuckles.
