Pinch hitter I guess. Just a move across town. Wonder who they have to move for his roster spot.

Happy for Pujols. Hope the move works out for both him and the Dodgers.

I don’t know who they moved but, to my understanding, this will cost the Trolley Dodgers $30,000,000, minus what the Angels already paid. For a pinch hitter below the Mendoza line? Okay I guess. Not my money

This is like Willie Mays on the Mets or Steve Carlton on the Twins, Giants, or White Sox.

No DH in the NL so I'm surprised he'd end up there.

Dodgers signing players just because they can afford to.

According to ESPN, it’s costing the Dodgers only $420,000. The rest is on the Angels.

Heard that he is willing to be a bench player. Kind of make sense to him. No big move of his home, and could get another championship before retiring. He will get to play at Busch stadium more now that he is back to NL. For Dodgers, sounds like an overkill, but not so bad to have a bench player like Pujols.

Pujols never seem to be a good fit for the Angels, and he does not want to be a bench player for them. Angels could be a better team without him, like the Red Sox gotten better when Nomar Garciaparra left the team, or the Nationals won the championship after Bryce Harper gone.

Nomar got traded for guys who made key contributions to that title team. Pujols just got the boot. It could be addition by subtraction but that wasn't quite the same thing with Nomar, even though his attitude had soured.

I've also read that there was some bad blood between Nomar and the rest of the team after the Varitek-A Rod brawl. Nomar was on the field (you can see #5 briefly) but never in the thick of it. And that some of the Sox, Kevin Millar, Pedro, Manny the foremost, called him out. Theo and Tito got together and decided that "No-mah" was disrupting the team chemistry and he had to go. No doubt that the Red Sox played better after the trade, 55-45 before and ended up 98-64. And no doubt that the incredible chemistry that the Red Sox had in 2004 won them the title.

Yeah they knew it wasn't going to work if they held onto him, I think the brawl was the final straw. It ended up being a great trade because they actually got value out of Cabrera and Mientkiewicz particularly on the defensive end. Nomar could've walked at the end of the year and they would've got nothing. They decided to actually get something for him (while improving team chemistry) and ended up winning the title. They gave him a ring, though I have to say that has to be the shittiest feeling imaginable. "The cursed team finally won because I left."

Oh that entire 2004 postseason, after Game 3 on the ALCS, must have tore Garciaparra apart. 8 1/2 year with the Sox, one of the most popular players ever and then gets to watch the comeback and the WS sweep on your TV, ouch. Nomar, the Pete Best of the Boston Red Sox

The final straw for Nomar and the Sox came in the game where Jeter made that incredible diving catch in the stands. Nomar was on the bench that game, which was one of those classic, epic Sox/Yankees games from that time. The entire Sox team were standing on the edge of the dugout during the game, except Nomar, who basically sat and stewed on the bench while the rest of the team were playing their hearts out. You had one All-Star shortstop diving into the stands to catch a foul ball, and the other All-Star shortstop looking like he could care less. Nomar was gone very soon after.....

Was Nomar felt slighted for considering to be traded for A-Rod? Looking back, I did wish A-Rod have gone to the Red Sox. I like Soriano.

That July 2004 game seemed like yesterday. I was an exciting game. That visual was very surreal. You see all the Red Sox players standing against the railing so into the game, except for the face of the team Nomar sitting there didn't care.
