The teen years, generally, present challenges in learning what this adult "thing" is all about. But, of the choices above, I'd have to say the best ... I loved it.
And, that's very fortunate, because the family moved to a suburban area, just before I went to high school. It was very close to the city ... probably, no more than 2 miles from the city limit. It was then that I realized that I am NOT a "suburbanite." I am a CITY MOUSE! I absolutely hated all of the endless strings of houses, with no; corner stores, occasional theaters, nearby pizza/ice cream/beauty parlors, coffee shops, laundries, hardware stores, banks, etc.. ALL of those things, that I think contribute to a feeling of a real neighborhood, were located in those damned shopping-centers.
If I had disliked high school, those would have been miserable years.

Yes, they were good times. I did really well in high school and learned a lot.

Sometimes I wonder if I had a bad upbringing, if it would have been another Columbine scenario. Just 12 years give or take of psychological abuse. But family life was good so it helped. Couldn't wait to get out of that hell hole and into a job. Looking back nothing they taught in public school stuck beyond reading, writing, and math. Everything else was superficial garbage that I wound up never needing to learn and was forgotten in 5 years. I graduated back in 99. It seems like another life and completely meaningless now that I am 40. Took a couple of years actually for me to come out of the introverted funk that I was beaten into.
Looking back, homeschooling would've saved me a LOT of stress!

In some ways I hated my high school years, but not any more so than the average person. When people say they wish they could go back I question their honesty. There are pros and cons to each stage of life, but all things considered I will definitely take adulthood over high school life.

No, that was pretty much the worst time of my life. We moved to a new country so my first year of high school was a nightmare having to learn a new language and leaving my childhood home and friends behind just as I started puberty really messed me up.

A mix of good and bad like every other stage of life.
I'd do things differently if I could go back that far, however, assuming I possessed my present level of experience and (relative) maturity.

I chose 'it's complicated'. There were some good times and there were some bad times.
