Overall I felt it was competently made but all too familiar, with some special effects and story elements letting the side down.
I'd still say Alien and Aliens are the kings of this franchise, and then you get a massive drop off followed by either Alien 3 or Covenant. Will need to re-watch the new movie to cement this decision.
