How are you feeling about it? You've been there a long time.

How are you feeling about it? You've been there a long time. I won't miss having to clean every surface a customer has touched, walking around counting heads to keep the store at 25% capacity, etc. I will miss many of the coworkers and some customers.

Keep in touch with the coworkers you're close to.

Do you have another job lined up? What are your plans?

You should do what you feel is right of course, however, never feel you are “above” a certain job.

Do you have another job lined up? What are your plans? No but I've been applying to remote jobs. I have enough savings to last me to October, by which time I'll get next semester's student grants. Will also be looking for a cheaper room closer to campus. I don't feel physically fit enough to work anymore after catching covid 4 months ago. Had abnormal lab test results. Gonna see a doctor in person in a few days. Kinda concerned I'll have to go back to relying on my mom.

Okay, and what led up to this? This requires an explanation, young lady!
And I thought you liked all those crazy Russian guys?

And I thought you liked all those crazy Russian guys? I'm still with my boyfriend! Long covid makes me too exhausted to work 10 hour shifts standing up, while wearing a mask that's giving me rashes and acne, while I'm doped up on Benadryl that I take to prevent sneezing, while I drink Pepsi to counter drowsiness which apparently could be irritating my bladder which I'm getting checked out soon. Also had blood test results come in that said my hemoglobin is higher than normal. I'd rather just focus on the 3,000 words I have to write by Tuesday night for school. The vaccine has been giving me side effects for the past week too. Been having cough, fever, chills, and aches.

So you should be able to get some disability benefits, correct?
Well good luck then. I've found that even when I've left a job I like, that in retrospect the new job usually ends up being better.

I'm not really interested in collecting social assistance as I believe that should be a last resort. I already got $2,800 at the end of April for my summer semester's living expenses and that's intended to last to the end of August, by which time I'll receive Fall 2021's student grants. I also intend to move around July 1 and there are rooms in the area I'm looking at that are cheaper than my current place by as much as $180/month. Eventually my boyfriend might move in with me and split expenses as he's planning to attend a school that's near mine.

But the owners of the grocery store don't pass up free money in the way of tax cuts et al. You shouldn't. You paid into the system when you were working. It's yours.

Long COVID is still not understood and people are still presenting with symptoms almost a year after becoming infected. Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate.
