Extreme heat. Heat may be uncomfortable, but at least it’s not physically painful.

Extreme Heat If There's Little Or No Humidity.
I'm living 40 miles outside of Philadelphia but grew up in the high desert in southern California in San Bernardino county.
120 Degrees in palm springs without the humidity is so much easier to tolerate than 85 here in PA with humidity

I can always put on more clothes if it gets cold, but I can't peel off my skin if it gets hot.

Extreme cold I suppose.
Heat without humidity is fine, but I’d prefer a cold day to even that. I can work around a cold day by layering up and moving about. Extreme heat is far more uncomfortable to me.

I can always put on more clothes if it gets cold, but I can't peel off my skin if it gets hot. Same Here. I prefer Winter... In addition, When you go outside, you can shovel the snow out of the way... But the extreme humidity (OUTSIDE) during the Summer? What the hell does one do about that?

Extreme cold.
I can always get warmer, bundle up, cuddle, wear more clothes, get under the blankets, start a fire, get in bed, turn the heat up.
But if it's hot out, you can't really cool down, especially if it's muggy & humid as well as hot. The A/C (if you're lucky enough to have it) can get taxed and seize up, stop working, and it doesn't work as a dehumidifier. Fans only swirl around the hot & muggy air. Sitting there with sweat dripping when you're not doing anything is depressing and miserable.
Yeah, I vote for the cold please.

It's easier to tolerate extreme cold because you can wear more clothes or pile on extra blankets.
Extreme heat is more difficult to endure because you can't run around naked or stay in the pool all day.

Generally speaking, I tolerate heat better. I don't even have air conditioning, and I do fine until the indoor temp passes 95* F, and then I go into torpor. I'm most comfortable with temps in the 80's.
Cold makes me miserable. I don't have enough body fat for insulation, so I'm usually bundled up like an Eskimo all winter. People are always shocked when Spring comes and I lose my many layers of clothing, and they see that I'm still a scrawny size 3. It kind of shocks me, too.

Extreme Cold. I can, at least, dress for this. In my first year of university, where I went, the average day time high temperature in the winter was in the low minus 20s (Celcius). And, that's not even with the windchill! I remember one of the days where it wasn't going to get above -25 degrees. Here I am, standing at the bus stop with a pair of track pants under my jeans, a scarf and TWO sweaters. Others were shivering because of the cold. Meanwhile, I was like "Cold? What cold?" They both suck, and it sucks even more that where I live there's such a wide swing between summer and winter. If I had to take one, I'd say I find the cold easier to deal with. But they both suck.
