It’s fine. Scarlet can carry a film.

As an action movie about a person increasing her brain power, the film is surprisingly dumb and cliché filled. “Lucy” gets off to a good start, but, as a thriller about intelligence and insight, it only uses about 20% of its cognitive capability.

The title character in LUCY takes a drug that's not heroine but that turns her into a heroine. Honestly, this should’ve been a traditional superhero(ine) movie, because then I could've accepted all the implausibilities. Unfortunately, Luc Besson tries to explain everything through science and it doesn’t work. A lot of the things that LUCY does have nothing to do with cells or the brain’s full capacity. That being said, it’s a non-stop thrill ride with a couple of visually gorgeous moments. Best bad movie ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.
