So Thomas Busby's chair of Death is a chair that hangs 6 ft off the ground in the Trisk Museum. This chair was Thomas Busby's favorite chair. at his local bar. Him and his father in law were criminals and Busby was known for his short temper. In 1702 Busby fought with his father in law after finding him sitting in his fav. chair. His father in law made Busby's wife come home with him. Busby later that night killed his father in law with a hammer. Busby cursed his favorite chair before he was hung. And so far the curse was successful as many who've sat in the chair have met awful deaths.

Apparently it's hung off the ground so that even maintenance aren't tempted to sit in it.

Yeah, Unsolved Mysteries did a segment on this back in the 1990s... "Chair Of Death"... and was released on the "Strange Legends" DVD set.
It was done as kind of a "Ha Ha" piece... With people making fun of it all, despite the fact that people who did sit in the chair, died shortly there after... Like, The idiot who jokingly pretended to strangle himself with a piece of rope while sitting in the chair.
Even if it all sounds preposterous... There's enough truth in it all, that I would never tempt fate, and sit in that chair.

I remember that episode of Unsolved Mysteries, it freaked me the hell out. How do you explain EVERYBODY who sits in it, knowing the legend or not, ALL dying shortly afterwards?
I remember Robert Stack explaining it's kept off the ground in the museum and it's never taken down even to be cleaned.
And now I'm starting to wonder if that has something to do with why I almost never sit down anywhere I go, if I have to stand around for half an hour, I stand.
