I'm not sure I understand. Are films released in the first two months just out of luck? Or do they consider the movies intended for theatrical release but appeared as streaming because of the shutdown not real movies? Normally, I would agree with the second question premise except that most if not all of the nominees from the films of 2020 were streaming. Seems a bit unfair if I am getting it right.

Are films released in the first two months just out of luck? Those films were eligible for the ceremony that took place weeks ago. If they didn't get nominated, it's because they didn't get enough votes. They would probably not get enough votes either if they were allowed to compete next year.
