There are the famous ones (1917, Paths of Glory, All Quiet on the Western Front, War Horse, Gallipoli etc.), but what are some lesser known ones?
When we think of war movies I think most of us probably think of WWII and Vietnam movies and many of these are very famous movies, so that is why I wanted to make a thread about WWI movies.
Even less prominent are Revolutionary War movies, so if anybody knows any famous movies based on that war (besides The Patriot), chime in.

I don't think The Korean War has many movies as far as I know.

I don't think The Korean War has many movies as far as I know. I can't think of any at the moment. I am more interested in WWI, which is why I am asking about the specific war.

Beneath Hill 60. An Accidental Soldier. My Boy Jack. The Water Diviner (okay, it's actually more about the Greco-Turkish War which broke out after WW1, but still relevant). The Lost Battalion (2001). Aces High. All the King's Men (1999).

You should check out Peter Jackson's, They Shall Not Grow Old (2018).
It's a documentary with digitally enhanced footage that makes the grainy original footage look like it was filmed yesterday.

There are a few about the Korean War: The Steel Helmet The Rack Sayonara and then there's M*A*S*H as well as The Manchurian Candidate I've seen all those. I forgot which war all of them besides MASH are about, but only The Steel Helmut do I consider an actual "war" movie. I'm surprised nobody else mentioned MASH besides you.

I prefer the 1979 remake of All Quiet On The Western Front to the original.
This one gets overlooked:

Even though it's grossly inaccurate, I did really enjoy Flyboys (2006). Plus there were some episodes from the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles that were remade as some solid war movies such as The Phantom Train of Doom; Daredevils of the Desert; Attack of the Hawkmen; Adventures in the Secret Service; and Oganga the Giver and Taker of Life.

The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse (1921). I guess this qualifies as “lesser known” since it hasn’t come up on anybody’s suggestions so far but it was very famous for many decades as the movie that catapulted Rudolph Valentino to major leading man status.
The sound era remake (using the same title) from 1962 was updated to WWII.

There's a couple of animated ones that you might not know about. Adama which is about an African boy chasing his brother from home to the front lines. And Sergeant Stubby about a dog that ends up serving on the front lines and saving the lives of many soldiers
