I watched this last night and really enjoyed it. I know most people seem to think it's a pretty big disappointment after the first one 17 years earlier, but I suppose in this case I'm lucky to have not yet seen the first one.
The cinematography is excellent, almost having the feel of an epic in many scenes. The score is solid, adding to the campy and fun nature of the entire movie.
Ford is a little underwhelming, but Shaw is great on his own, and they're fun to watch as a duo. Franco Nero also makes a fun appearance.
All in all, I really liked it. 8/10

I first saw it at a drive-in. You can see how this movie was packaged--they have stars from Rocky, Jaws, Star Wars, the Spy Who Loved Me, Day of the Jackal, and Django... I thought Ford was rather good in this--he does a better acting job when the director cares about the performance.
Even Carl Weathers is effectively used considering he is shoehorned into it as a stowaway. The ending is kind of non-committal. Not really the blockbuster ending--this was AIP I think.

You can tell that they were unable to pull off the ending on their budget when a huge wave washes the bridge away like matchwood.
