So if the plot is the same then why is it overthinking if I am calling the statement into question? Because it is the same idea as Transformers and Masters of the Universe.
Why do you think they had two sets of toys-so they could have the classic good toy vs bad toy scenario (in reverse-the human ones are the bad guys). One difference is the kid in Small Soldiers was at risk of being killed by Chip Hazard while in Transformers the kid was able to leap onto a giant robot and save the day by direct physical combat with the evil leader.
Same idea does not mean the same plot though, and an idea does equate to plot. Plot refers to a series of events that occur within a story, the idea for it is the premise. The concept of Small Soldiers is clearly meant to satirize the toy industry and the marketplace as a whole, I wouldn't limit it to one associated piece of content from one particular franchise or another. Both kids were at risk of death in their movies. Er, no, Shia LaBeouf's character did not 'leap' onto Megatron and engage in physical combat with them, he ran underneath them and placed the Allspark close to their chest which destroyed their spark. Geez, I know you hate that one but at least get the information right...

How can this still be argued. It isn't worth debating.
He was jumping around on the robot. He would have been squashed easily. That was a combat situation since he was up against a giant robot.
God that was terrible. Masters of the Universe was so much cheaper but they didn't do something stupid with the teens in that. He-Man actually does fight Skeletor and the kids are not involved.

If you break things to the basics, Small Soldiers has a lot in common with other movies as well. Yet it's being argued and clearly you decided it was worth the debate. He wasn't jumping around he was running around, he could've been squashed easily hence why his life was in at fact at risk, he was not up against the robot, Megatron was engaged in combat with Optimus Prime and had just been hit several times by military weaponry. While it would've appealed to a fan more to have Optimus Prime be the one to end Megatron it wouldn't have been a satisfying enough conclusion to its story as Shia LaBeouf's character was the main protagonist. What was stupid about it? Optimus Prime tells LaBeouf that merging the Allspark with his chest would destroy it and himself and he took that knowledge and used it to end Megatron.

How about a little challenge? If you think the the plot has a lot in common with other movies
then summarize the plot in a basic way so Commando, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future all have the same plot as Small Soldiers.
Can you do that?
I was saying that this movie has the same plot as two other toy-themed movies. I then summarized their plots to show what they have in common.
If you think my summary can be done with any movie to make it match another, then try it.
If you say both Raiders of the Lost Ark and Small Soldiers have color photography--that's not what we mean. I mean plot. You are arguing for nothing.
And I think having Optimus Prime defeat Megatron would have been more satisfying than having the teen do it.
I think OP even said "you saved me or you saved us" to the kid.

Hahaha, so now the one of shy detail wants to be strong of detail. This has taken an hilarious turn.

You can't compare Small Soldiers to some other movie like you can compare it to Transformers or Masters of the Universe. That's why my plot summary works.
It is detailed enough - you are just splitting hairs for whatever reason.

Nah, I can... The Commando Elite hold Kirsten Dunst's family hostage and the kid and The Gorgonites must try to rescue them by engaging with equally violent tactic (Commando) The Goronites are on a quest to find something of grand importance but The Commando Elite prevent them from finding it and their feud escalates to a larger scale (Raiders of the Lost Ark) Eccentric scientists create advanced mechanics by using technology that is not for public use, lead kid has brown hair like Marty McFly and a quick witted sense of humor and likes to wear reddish color clothing (Back to the Future) I just find it funny that you point to just one movie(Masters of the Universe) that you think legitimately had internal influence on Small Soldiers in its plot, don't tell me to overthink it when I question it, and then expect me to identify similarities to three other movies. This is not a particularly good sign that your conclusion do not support your presence all too well. As for Small Soldiers having similarities with a later film in Transformers many Steven Spielberg produced and directed films carry common tropes and even humor in all of them so comparisons can be traced back further and after Small Soldiers to 2007.

You are not summarizing the whole plot as I did.
You can't. You have to nitpick. I guess it is just what you do.
Oh well.
