I’ve noticed one of my popcorn genres is disaster films...especially within the past year...so it’s good to find a decent one I can kick back to and watch the world end.
Greenland is very solid. Really pulls off the family dynamic well. I was especially impressed early on when with minimal exposition I knew exactly what was going on with Gerard and his family. His general presence of frustration, him going for the doorbell and then the house keys when he gets home tells you everything you need to know about where his marriage is. You barely need any more details than that to feel all caught up in his personal state of mind. Also it was very nice to see a disaster film feature people actually helping other people. Granted there were still looters and people who put their own self preservation first but several side characters were kind, understanding and helpful to the main characters and it was just kind of nice to see. The only time I rolled my eyes is the stereotypical shot of everyone waiting on the other side of a giant mechanical door to see what the world looks like after the disaster is over. But that was a small detail. I’d definitely watch this again.

So this is not some Republican-funded propaganda piece about how Greenland is US property and needs to be occupied?

So this is not some Republican-funded propaganda piece about how Greenland is US property and needs to be occupied? Nope. Greenland isn't even as big to the plot as i thought it would be.

It seems the director was inspired by the pandemic to make another sequel... Another reason to hate covid.

Didn't the first Greenland movie make only $53 million on $35 million budget? It's like Sicario making sequels on negligible profits. What's the point or gain financially for them?

I thought it was very good too. Many real nail-biting believable scenarios
