Hot take: I don’t think it’s worth watching. We shall find out soon enough. Both Wanda and FAWS have been decent. Doubt theyre going to drop the ball with a character like Loki

But it just feels like such a desperate ploy to draw fans to DisneyFlix. I mean, Loki was a great character with a pretty solid arc that concluded with his death. Did we really need an alt Loki going into another reality where he presumably fixes his time crime and then ceases to exist?

Felt disappointed by the first episode. Started out really strongly, and I was really looking forward to seeing how the rest of it played out, but then it turned into basically just a recap of Loki's MCU history, which I didn't need. Also, the TVA using Infinity Stones as paperweights?!! SACRILEGE!!

Also, the TVA using Infinity Stones as paperweights?!! SACRILEGE!! I'm assuming they added this for the people not that familiar with the story. Actually, I needed it because I don't really remember all the details of the original films. I think the episode did unpack a lot, such as Loki Prime visiting different eras I'm assuming will be returned to like Renaissance France and the Oklahoma Old West. I'm also thinking the kid in the back of the church might be a Kid Loki variant. We'll see. Of course the conceit is how does Loki beat the TVA scared timeline. How many people tuning into a Marvel show wouldn’t be familiar with the story of the MCU at this point?

I was just looking at the reviews on IMDb. It’s literally dozens after dozens of 10/10s. I don’t doubt that people like the show, but I do wonder why super positive “reviews” always spam the internet for every single Disney IP regardless of actual quality. A bit suspicious.

Have I committed some kind of sin? I don’t think remembering all the details should be that important, as long as you know the general gist of it.

You know what, I'll keep watching Loki and you can watch something else. This is a spoiler thread by the way for fans of the show to hash out plot points for fun and not a how MCU has disappointed me yet again thread.

I was questioning why the show would need to recap past events.

Every one of them says it’s a “Masterpiece” after just one episode. That’s what really takes the “fun out of things nowadays”: the extreme views that take over everything.

You don’t have to get worked up. I’m not judging you. I was questioning why the show would need to recap past events. Because it helps the people who don't know all the details. And frankly, I thought the first episode was pretty darn good. Not a lot of action, but there is already enough to set up a promising narrative which involves a character we have not met: Time Cop Killer Loki...or is this killer actually Kang? Is the kid in the church a Kid Loki? I even like the friendly jabs at Hiddles's "I Heart TS" t-shirt faux and his tendency to talk too much. Where was that?

Owen Wilson never says it directly, but Loki makes a reference to his own self-love and Wilson says like, "I love it, slap it on a t-shirt."

Not everyone will enjoy or see merit in the exact same things. I've wanted to see this TV series since it was announced. I just want everyone to have fun watching it and talk about the plot points here. But if you want to critique, which is fine, please so elsewhere so we don't have to defend our taste in TV shows. Don't tell other people what to do, this is my thread. This is a discussion thread. All opinions are welcome. I don't care whether he wants to critique or not.
