It's happened in the comics, it isn't like they're making some kind of statement.

I hope this isn't going to be another agenda pusher like Falcon and the Winter Solider was.

As long as it's not handled as heavy-handedly as TFATWS was then it should be fine. That said, can sex actually be fluid? I thought it was gender that could be fluid?

Yes, among mythical creatures found in many cultures, they're called hermaphrodites. Hermaphrodites are different from sex fluid. Sex fluid implies that you can switch from being one sex to the other, where you can go from being fully male to being fully female and everything in between, whereas a hermaphrodite is someone born with both male and female genitalia, and they can't exactly swing from being one or the other.

A scene from the Dark Avengers days...can’t remember what the group called themselves but they were the Anti Illuminati and the comic seemed to show a potential future where Doom eliminated the others and took Loki and Emma Frost as his slaves. abload.de/img/7brjq7.jpg

If you go all the way back to the thousands year old cultural myths, Loki's sex has always been fluid in that he can both father and mother offspring. Notice that it is his "sex" listed as fluid and not "gender." Therefore, Loki is what is known as in many myths an aeon both, which are both male and female and they can have children via parthenogenesis. Also, he's not a human being, so we have no idea what his DNA is. Rather than XY, he could be ZC. Ok but he's still male first and foremost. Fluid just refers to his ability. Just because he can turn into a woman doesnt mean he is one For example, if I had the ability to suddenly walk through walls and I can choose to use it or not, does that make me a ghost now?

He did give birth to Odin's steed. I guess when he transforms, it goes down to the biological level too. What was the reason for that?

In Norse mythology Loki transforms himself into a female horse to lure a frost giant's steed away and mates with them, giving birth to Sleipnir. This was adapted into Marvel comics, but not for the Marvel Cinematic Universe which also changed his fatherhood of Hela into brotherhood - She as well as the giant wolf that follows her around in the Ragnarok film is in mythology Loki's children. Loki also has two brides as well, one in Asgard the other in his native land.

Change to brotherhood is news though

This isn't like Steve Rodgers deciding he'd rather be a woman out of nowhere, this is the god of mischief who already has a history in the MCU of changing form for self-indulgence as well as to mess with people. Precedent has been set historically as well as in the comics, it isn't some 'radical agenda' or whatever by Disney of all organizations.
I don't understand why this is a talking point in 2021. Do you really think that's going to be the main plot of the show? What's the worst that could happen, they have him turn female and springboard the character into a new level of storytelling opportunities? What a shame that would be.
