My apologies if I bashed this flick in the past. I've finally watched it (for the first time) in awe. "Captain Marvel" is a terrific movie. Great plot, Brie is just plain wonderful and charismatic, spectacular battles/fights and special effects. This is a brilliant superhero movie with mind, soul and heart. It totally destroys Wonder Woman 1 and 1984. And sadly, I must admit it: this is how a Phoenix movie should feel and look. 10/10.

There are two types of people that are equally wrong
People who says that Captain Marvel is the worst movie ever made and people who calls Captain Marvel a masterpiec.

It's certainly not as good as the first WONDER WOMAN, but a helluva lot better than WONDER WOMAN 1984.

So you’re admitting you bashed a movie you hadn’t seen?

So you’re admitting you bashed a movie you hadn’t seen? That was a very common thing to do on YouTube when the movie came out, people bashing it before seeing it.

When I first watched Captain Marvel I ranked it near the middle of the MCU. Not great but not bad either. The more I rewatch the different movies, the more it goes down on my list. Right now I think I actually prefer Thor TDW than Captain Marvel.

Right now I think I actually prefer Thor TDW than Captain Marvel. Ragnarok and Endgame have a lot to do with the rehabilitation of TDW, I think. Rewatched it recently and it's still not great, but it isn't as actively bad as I remember it being. Captain Marvel would've been great as a phase one movie; cramming a solo movie that doesn't lean on the rest of the MCU the way every film does now between IW and Endgame was never going to end well. Oh, and giving your main character amnesia so she has no personality for 80% of the movie (making her unknowable to the audience, let alone herself) was also a terrible choice. I liked it better than most people, but honestly the Skrulls are the best part about it and that's a problem.

Maybe when compared with other MCU movies it ranks somewhere middle to low but it was always fine as a movie. I'd rather watch The Dark World than The Danish Girl.

The Skrulls are not even the best part of the movie, once you get over the fact that they're not going to be the world threatening menaces they are in the comics and their impressive special effects... They're quite shit in the movie.

To each their own but I thought it was decent enough. Quite a few superhero films beat it though imo
Guardians of the Galaxy, Winter Soldier + Civil War, Thor 1 + Ragnarok, Iron Man 1, All the Avengers films, Spidey 1 + 2 and Black Panther
On the Dc side-Aquaman, WW84, Suicide Squad
Fox-Deadpool + II, First Class + Days of Future Past, X2
