I would vote for old fashioned homemade vanilla ice cream.
Peach would be good too!

I've been buying 4 lb of red seedless grapes, rinsing 3 pounds and removing them from the stems, and putting them in the freezer in a zipper storage gallon bag. I attack them often.

Vanilla is always the best ice cream flavour for summer as you can add fresh seasonal fruits like berries passionfruit pineapple and mango to it for a delicious and nutritious treat.

I learned that from my grandparents. They had Concord grapevines and grandma would put some in the freezer for the grandkids. We just had to watch out for the seeds. Now I freeze seedless ones.

Thanks NJtoTx and sunshine, I'm going to try freezeing grapes. Is there anything special I have to do?

Vanilla is certainly a flavor, WKD prefers French vanilla but I've also seen Vanilla Bean and Homemade Vanilla.

But do you consider adding fruit to Vanilla a new flavor? I think of it as still Vanilla just with some fruit. The local ice cream place totes new flavors all the time like Kit Kat crunch. But all they did was toss some Kit Kat bars in some vanilla, I donβt really consider that a new flavor....

Homemade fresh strawberry or peach ice cream have always screamed summer to me.
I have a great watermelon ice recipe, too.

Still can't find any Spumoni Ice cream in Mobile County, asked for it at Publix, they didn't know what I was talking about.

What is your watermelon ice recipe ? π sounds amazing. Watermelon Ice
4 cups cubed seeded watermelon 2 Tbs honey 2 Tbs Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice 1/3 of a can of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk 1/3 Cup of Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut (NOT coconut milk-find it in the grocery store on the shelf with exotic mixers, grenadine, and such, or a liquor store.)
ETA: I suppose this is not truly an ice, but there is not enough milk to call it a sherbet. Sorbet, perhaps? And, yeah, I know there's a lot of sugar in it, but it isn't something one would eat every day; it's a party treat.
Combine all in the blender. Place in a prepared ice cream maker canister (I use a KitchenAid mixer with a bowl attachment I freeze for 12 hours before I plan to freeze the ice.)
I spent a couple of summers years ago developing this recipe until it was just sweet enough, creamy enough, with that splash of lime. I was crazy for anything coconut at the time and put a lot of effort into working it into as many recipes as possible. LOL Still love coconut.
