What is your watermelon ice recipe ? π sounds amazing. Watermelon Ice
4 cups cubed seeded watermelon 2 Tbs honey 2 Tbs Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice 1/3 of a can of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk 1/3 Cup of Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut (NOT coconut milk-find it in the grocery store on the shelf with exotic mixers, grenadine, and such, or a liquor store.)
ETA: I suppose this is not truly an ice, but there is not enough milk to call it a sherbet.Β Sorbet, perhaps?Β And, yeah, I know there's a lot of sugar in it, but it isn't something one would eat every day; it's a party treat.
Combine all in the blender.Β Place in a prepared ice cream maker canister (I use a KitchenAid mixer with a bowl attachment I freeze for 12 hours before I plan to freeze the ice.)
I spent a couple of summers years ago developing this recipe until it was just sweet enough, creamy enough, with that splash of lime.Β I was crazy for anything coconut at the time and put a lot of effort into working it into as many recipes as possible. LOL Still love coconut.
Sounds awesome! Thanks so much.

I bought a pint of Blue Bell Mint ice cream with chocolate chunks today, it was very refreshing. I rarely eat ice cream and I haven't had mint ice cream in years, I only ate 1/4 pint but I'm sure WKD will decide to taste it and will finish it off. He claims he doesn't like mint ice cream but like with many other things, whenever I buy something for myself that he "doesn't like", he will sneak a taste then gobble it all up.

I always loved the peppermint ice cream that had a vanilla base with green and red bits of peppermint in it. I would get that or lime sherbet as a kid. Always surprised the person doing the dipping because most kids didn't like lime sherbet. I don't remember if it was a Baskin Robbins, but they did have 31 flavors.

As I predicted, WKD ate the rest of the mint with chocolate chunks. That's ok, I often get gas or an upset stomach from ice cream.
Sunshine: I love lime sherbet but its hard to find.

Still can't find any Spumoni Ice cream in Mobile County, asked for it at Publix, they didn't know what I was talking about. I hear you, I am from Chicago, I recall years ago you could find pints of the flavor at most stores, now it has become obsolete, maybe it is not popular anymore, but I like it. Jewel has it in half gallons, but I have to watch my diet , and can't eat that much.

Chocolate ice cream with either lemon or orange sherbet is a nice seasonal treat. I have enjoyed vanilla ice cream and coke sodas since childhood.

There's some Ben and Jerry's flavors with Blueberry in them. Do you have Safeway or Albertsons in Chicago? There's the Signature Select brand which I think is from there. I wish I could be of more help.

I heard Dominics went out of business, they had great baked goods.

Sounds awesome! Thanks so much. Hey, nutsberry
I made a batch of watermelon ice last weekend. It was as wonderful as I remembered. It still needs work, according to the Mr, maybe a bit more Eagle Brand, a bit more coconut cream, more time in the blender before freezing. I used the food processor with the silcone blade this time and I'm not used to the way it handles fruit. I guess he didn't like the bits of frozen watermelon scattered through the ice. I thought they were refreshing.

As far as I know Jewel is still thriving.

What brands have blueberry ice cream? I have not seen any in Chicago. Target And Walmart's generic and Biscoff have a blueberry cheesecake www.target.com/p/blueberry-cheesecake-ice-cream-16oz-favorite-day-8482/-/A-81608526www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Blueberry-Cheesecake-Ice-Cream-48-fl-oz/836831667www.safeway.com/shop/product-details.960520875.htmlHalo Top has Blueberry Crumble www.safeway.com/shop/product-details.960392251.3132.html I am familiar with Safeway. I think we have Albertson's as well. I know about Signature Select as well. Thanks for the info. I'm another Chicago girl. I loved Jewel Food stores, glad they are still in business. I heard Dominics went out of business, they had great baked goods. Jewel-Osco is an Albertsons company. Dominick's was a Safeway company. Safeway and Albertson's merged in 2015. Albertsons is the parent company of Safeway now but most of the stores are revamped to be safeway like. We have Acme here in PA, which is an Albertsons company and was an Albertsons company before the merge. The 3 acmes I've been in, they all look like safeway. even the price tags on their shelves are using the font safeway was using before the merge, so it feels more like Safeway's the parent company. All of the Albertsons stores replaced their generics with Safeway generics because Safeway already had a line of generics while Albertsons used to use generics supplied by their former parent company, SuperValu.

Sounds great! I get off my restrictive diet because of my surgery in a couple weeks and will give it a try! π

Cooling lime coconut ice cream with a very small scoop of intense lemon sorbet and a scoop of tangy orange ice cream.
.
Or, maybe straight banana, though some prefer it caramelised.
