Pick one.
I mostly like The Magnificent Seven; really like The Dirty Dozen; love The Great Escape.

I don't much like any of them, but I think The Magnificent Seven is the most entertaining of the 3.

Nice piece of movie trivia: Charles Bronson was in all three films.

The Dirty Dozen for me. I like it enough to have purchased the dvd.
The Great Escape. I generally watch some of the film when it shows up on tv, but I've only seen it in its entirely a few times. Considered getting the dvd, but haven't yet.
The Magnificent Seven. I think I saw it all the way through at least once. Never even thought of owning it.

Man, that's a really fun (and incredibly long) night at the movies. I'd go with The Great Escape, but the other two are really great too. F*ck it, throw Kelly's Heroes on there too and make it an even four.

The Great Escape
And that, I'm sure you'll all remember, is the voice of the Nelles warbler Let's turn our attention to this gentleman -the masked shrike. Lanius nubicus. The butcherbird. The shrike impales his foes on the spikes of thorn bushes. Not a very lovable character, you see. Let's have a look at the colouring. Uniform black above, from head to tail. A black rump, a black crown with a bold white flash, and a white line over the eye. The shrike lives in lightly wooded country...Ah. Hendley. Sit down. You'll find drawing materials on the table.

Nice piece of movie trivia: Charles Bronson was in all three films. Does he survive in all three? I know he survives in Great Escape and Dirty Dozen.

No, he's among the fallen in 'The Magnificent Seven' because he becomes too attached to the local community, Sam Peckinpah paid this idea back with interest in 'The Wild Bunch'.

Charles Bronson
- dies in 7 - only one of dozen who lives (also Major and M.P.) - one of 76 who get out of camp, one of 3 who actually get to freedom

I've never been able to sit through The Magnificent Seven. Too hokey. I go with The Dirty Dozen by a nose over The Great Escape. However, the latter has two truly great scenes.
The camp commandant painfully telling of the deaths of so many escapees. The guard turning around as he hears McQueen bouncing the ball and seemingly thinking, "These Americans are indomitable."
Two pieces of Great Escape trivia which I've mentioned elsewhere. Donald Pleasance was a POW. Hannes Messemer who plays the aforementioned commandant was taken prisoner at Stalingrad - but he escaped!
