With Italy setting the Group A pace in what I thought was a decent well-paced game, it's up to these two to make headway. With 16 of 24 sides going through, surely even Wales can pot one of the four 3rd-place best finishing spots. you would think...

My prediction. Carl to change channel after 10 minutes.
1 - 1
Fair play to both teams taking the knee and I didn't hear any boos.

The mercifully brief kneeling is over and ref Turpin blows for the start.

Thought Wales had to win this one but Turkey didn't exactly impress. Crosses to Kieffer Moore may be important.

Wales came out of the traps like greyhounds for the first 3 minutes and Switzerland were happy to let them do it. But now 4 Welsh players take water very early on during a break in play with Embolo receiving treatment. Surely you've gotta pace yourself better than that in this kind of heat. Switzerland have looked sharper coming forward and have paced themselves well with only ten minutes gone.

Audacious attempt by Schar just there who meets the incoming corner with a delicious little back-flick just yards from keeper Ward who was fortunately placed on his line and saved with upright legs halfway through the first half.

Switzerland have become known for their bad boy antics in recent years but they look like they are becoming more relaxed in their vintage. Perhaps they can pose problems for Wales if they keep sweeping the ball from player to player.

Another strike from Seferovic there before the break, just over the bar. Surely Robert Page will have words in the interval about the middle-third which Switzerland, you have to say, have been allowed to treat as their own back yard and from where all manner of threats have been coming. But then again, Switzerland have yet to score.

They go in goalless at half time. How the Swiss have not potted is puzzling but then again Moore was unlucky not to see his powerful header beat Sommer early on.

Tea-break over, the teams are out to provide us with the second portion. Are there any changes in personnel? No, it seems the two outfits are unchanged. Let's see if Wales can claim a few more blades of midfield SISGrass hybrid pitch system.

GOAL
Ward to the rescue again as Embolo powers through three Welsh defenders and unleashes a rocket which Ward is equal to and he palms it over.
But from the resultant corner Embolo uses his head this time to steer it low and wide of Ward and into the Welsh net for nothing-one, 5 minutes into the half.

Fantastic passage of play. The Swiss cut through the Welsh like Swiss cheese, all the way up the middle of the pitch; the Welsh didn't heed their warning, Breel Embolo gets his goal.

I was going to describe it as hot knife through butter. Will Page bring on Ampadu for some strengthening of their defensive midfield. When they find a way through they have James and one or two others who could be a threat but 1 shot on target with an hour gone.
