Sorry but I havent been to a cinema in 18 months. I watch everything day and date release from my couch. F9 did a pathetic 211 million in China.
The cinema business has finally caught up with the music business. No more records broken. Avatar and Avengers, your records are save.

There was a time when no one thought Titanic could be beaten. I'd say anything can happen.

Maybe not, unless they will make one that will be really popular in china. If it's popular there, for some strange reason.

Covid and the streaming tsunami has changed the game forever.

I’d like to believe Ghostbusters:Afterlife could just cause of how much everyone HATED 2016’s movie. I don’t see it though sadly.

Sure there will, in 2030 when we're paying $37 to watch Avatar 2.

It should go away. Who cares how much money a movie makes beyond a basic profit? The race to have a greater and greater number is what helped make movies suck. They didn't worry about breaking a record 50 years ago. I bet if one looks at the BO numbers for movies outside of the top ten from 40-60 years ago you find a lot of movies that made their money back and are still well-regarded by movie fans today.

Either it does or it doesn't, but it'd be kind of cool to finish things with a bang.
