Fred Humes (1896 –1971) was primarily a western actor and stuntman however with his own designed suit Fred played gorillas in several film in the 1920's. Most notably as Bimi the gorilla marooned on a desert island with Patsy Ruth Miller, Lorraine of the Lions (1925) and C ircus Rookies (1928) in which he played Bimbo the Gorilla alongside Louise Lorraine...

Funny to read old posts I've written, I didn't know how to post pics back then... The man who was supposed to hint the Duke Brothers about Frozen Orange Juice got caught and masked in Trading Places 1983

Great to be back!!!.... A little bit more classic gorilla trivia... The ape suit worn by John Kolb in the lost 1927 film The Gorilla was created by Charles Gemora, it was his first gorilla suit creation. In the following year Gemora made his gorilla debut, sadly another lost silent treasure The Leopard Lady (1928). Directed by Rupert Julian the early horror drama has around 10 minutes of tantalizing classic stills pieced together....... John Kolb in The Gorilla (1927) Alan Hale, Jacqueline Logan and Charles Gemora in the The Leopard Lady (1928)
