Movies that are generally considered to be the best, or at least not the worst, of their respective trilogy.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Captain America: Civil War
Thor: Ragnarok
Avengers: Infinity War

Rocky III wasn't better than the original, but it's easily the best of the many sequels.

Back to the Future III
Doc Brown's film, and an improvement over II (even if that one looks better and better every time I watch it.)

Rocky III wasn't better than the original, but it's easily the best of the many sequels. You'd put III above II? From a realistic standpoint, II is better. But from a pure entertainment standpoint, III is better. If any of that makes sense. It all depends on how you like your Rocky. As a serious drama, II is the better of the two. As popcorn entertainment, III is the better of the two.
