Inspired by a Presidential post on this board...there are several films about Lincoln, and a few others have at least one bio (or at least a film depiction of a major event in their lives)--Wilson, FDR, JFK, Lyndon Johnson, G.W. Bush, Obama; others, like Truman and John Adams, have had some decent TV movie/miniseries portrayals. What others deserve a sizable film portrayal? Why is there no Calvin Coolidge: Quiet Rebel, for instance?

William McKinley
Assassinated by an anarchist at the Pan American Exhibition; led the country through the Spanish American War; protectionist; one of the earlier American interventionists in global affairs; kept the US on the gold standard. The election of 1900 would be an interesting focus, running against William Jennings Bryant.

I once saw a movie starring Van Heflin as Andrew Johnson. I think it was TENNESSEE JOHNSON. Wild movie.
Lets see, who deserves one? Which president knelt before Zod? I can't remember.
Okay, how about Cleveland? Got to be a story of up and down with the split presidency.
William Henry Harrison with his long reign.
McKinley, never hear about him much. Teddy as his second in command would make an interesting supporting character.
And Harding, noted for a doomed train ride. A train makes a good set, and not an overly expensive one as films go.

I would like to see a cinematic version of HBO's John Adams with younger and more prominent actors playing Thomas Jefferson and John Adams but narrated from President Jefferson's perspective.

I would like to see a film about Teddy Roosevelt's trip to the Amazon after his presidency: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roosevelt%E2%80%93Rondon_Scientific_ExpeditionHis wife twisted son Kermit's arm and made him go along: "Your father is thinking about not coming back". Kermit was trying to get to his wedding around this time; it was much delayed. Sure enough: there comes a point when TR, wounded and probably dying, says to his son: "I can't make it. Leave me a gun and go on without me". Kermit: "Dad, I'm not going back to Mom and tell her I left you kill yourself alone in the jungle. Let's get going".

A Trump biographical film is definitely going to happen. wmcclain I agree that would be great;I recommend the book River of Doubt if you hadn't read it yet. It's all about the Roosevelt-Rondon expedition. Good page-turner. I think a movie about one of our less illustrious presidents like Warren G. Harding or James Buchanan could be interesting in the mold of a 'cautionary tale' treatment. On the other end of the spectrum, a biographical epic about someone more recent like Dwight Eisenhower would be cool, maybe as a World War 2 epic like Patton.

Why not the very first president, George Washington? You mean that asswipe who lied about that cherry tree that fell on my log cabin? He was the only one with an axe or a saw. I know he did it. Y'all better not whitewash that FACT and saw he fessed up to it and didn't lie. Oh, and he's lying about that coin that his slave tossed across the river. George is trying to say he tossed the coin across the river. It was his slave, Satchel, who did it, and Satchel then tossed eight more coins all landing on top of each other in the same spot. George is saying he did that himself. And George is saying he was freezing with his men at Valley Forge. He was hiding in his cabin with central heating and air the whole time. Wouldn't let anyone else in, except the wenches. What an asswipe.

Andrew Jackson - His exploits at the Battle of New Orleans have been covered in two versions of The Buccaneers, in which he was a supporting character. A movie about his actual tenureship as president should be interesting.
Theodore Roosevelt - He was a larger-than-life figure in our history that it's more appropriate to produce a biographical miniseries. Also, there was a Rough Riders miniseries, which featured Tom Berenger as Theodore Roosevelt, that was co-directed by John Milius.
Warren G. Harding - A movie about the Teapot Dome scandal is ripe for a political drama.
Ulysses S. Grant - There's a documentary about him on the History Channel that aired last year. I personally find his time serving as general during the Civil War more interesting than his presidency.

I'd love to see a movie where the founding fathers somehow get transplanted to the current United States. We get to see how folks like Washington, Adams, and Jefferson would react to modern day politics. Could be a very interesting film.
If such a film happens, remember where you heard the idea first, thanks.

If they do make a film about him, it might be more of the people surrounding him. Like people having to put up with his antics and how it affected their personal and professional lives. But a character story of Trump himself would have to use a lot of imagination to make him interesting.

Something tells me we'll get a Joe Biden biopic with Chris Evans in the near future. Of course, they will gloss over any and all controversy surrounding them including statements made which left Judge Joe Brown disgusted beyond belief.
