1956
I do like the ending of the 1978 version better though.

1956
The remake is scarier, but not as entertaining. The 1956 version is one case where I actually like the B movie feel over the more "realistic" approach. I also prefer the small town setting of the original.

Oh man this one is tough. I’m gonna have to go with the remake though. Honestly I’m surprised you didn’t put all of the remakes on here.

1978.
A rare time where a remake outdoes its predecessor in basically every respect.

As with The Fly, the 1978 Body Snatchers has the advantage of a quantum leap in fx and modern acting technique.
Still, I'm going with the original. It scared the ever lovin' beJaysus out of me in '56.

Not a fan of either, but at least the 1956 one is shorter.

The 1978 is quite creepy and features some impressive visual effects. I'm fond of horror movies from that era (I like the aesthetic) and would rank it ahead of the 50s version. Good cast too - Sutherland, Nimoy and Goldblum.

Really close on this one, but I'm giving the edge to the '78 edition. The creepy vibe and general sense of paranoia Kaufman brought to every scene was relentless.

1956 by a slight margin. But the 1978 has a more memorable ending.

I broke the 11-11 balance by going with the 1978 version.
I like the atmosphere better and the ending is a more "striking" but I really enjoy the positive attitude (from the main character) and determination seen in the older version.
