Let the Right One In
To be honest I was not crazy over either of them.

The original one. I like the pool scene more and the film has a more unsettling tone overall imo. The American remake is fine tho.

Let The Right One In blew me away when I first saw it. Despite copping out a bit Let Me In was still a decent film, and in some respects transferred more from the book. Though a real true adaptation probably would never make it to screen.

Though a real true adaptation probably would never make it to screen. The reason I much prefer the original is because it is actually scary and I prefer the more cold nature of the film. I also think Chloe Moretz is distractingly miscast, as per usual. The scene in the original where she comes in without permission is one of the single most visceral moments in the history of horror movies imo. The same scene in the remake is fine, but doesn't have anywhere near the same impact. The scene is bone-chilling in the original.

There were a few moments that were good in the remake, which didn't appear in the original - the botched murder in the car and the "Fathers" fall. The only fault I found with the original was the cats
